Other Information Analysis Centers (IACs)

In addition to the DoD IACs, various branches of the services operate and run other Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) sponsored IACs. These OSD-sponsored IACs were established to be the focal point for information related to their community of interest.

Description

ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory

The Airfields Pavement and Mobility Information Analysis Center (APMIAC) is a focal point for information related to all aspects of airfields, pavements, and vehicle mobility, including analytical modeling, criteria development, laboratory testing, full-scale test tracks, field investigations, modeling and simulations, and operations research.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Costal Engineering Information Analysis Center (CEIAC) was established within the former Coastal Engineering Research Center (CERC) at the Waterways Experiment Station (WES). It is now part of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL) and provides a focal point for information related to coastal engineering and science.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Cold Regions Sciences and Technology Information Analysis Center (CRSTIAC) provides a wide range of cold region technical information to government, industry and academia: research and engineering reports, state-of-the-art review papers, monographs and other specialized publications.

ERDC Geotechnical & Structures Laboratory

The Concrete Technology Information Analysis Center (CTIAC) has gathered analyzed, evaluated, condensed, and published reports on the state of the art in a number of areas related to concrete technology. The CTIAC draws upon the experience of GSL engineers and scientists who have expertise in related disciplines, including chemistry, physics, civil engineering, materials science and engineering, and structural engineering.

Defense Threat Reduction Agency

The Defense Threat Reduction Information Analysis Center (DTRIAC) is the key Department of Defense (DoD) source of information and analysis on nuclear and conventional weapons-related topics.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Environmental Information Analysis Center (EIAC) provides a focal point for conveying information related to environmental engineering and science.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Hydraulic Engineering Information Analysis Center (HEIAC) provides quick referrals to and establishes contact with leading authorities in various areas of technical expertise in hydraulic engineering.

Shock and Vibration Exchange

The Shock and Vibration Exchange (SAVE) was founded in 2012 in order to serve as a clearing house for persons interested in shock and vibration and related specialties.  The primary goals of SAVE are to maintain the continuity and offerings of the annual Shock and Vibration Symposium and to continue the offerings of 5-day shock courses.  SAVE is also able to handle technical inquiries on a limited basis.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Soil Mechanics Information Analysis Center (SMIAC) acquires, analyzes, evaluates, condenses, and disseminates the world's literature in the subject areas of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, engineering geology, seismology, geophysics, hydrogeology, and earthquake engineering.
